La Fortuna

La Fortuna is a town situated just a few kilometers from the Arenal volcano, one that is often named among the most active volcanoes of the world. Since 2010 however, activity has decreased significantly. From La Fortuna you have some breathtaking views of the volcano. Other attractions in the area include a 70 metres high waterfall, hanging bridges, ziplines, a butterfly farm and whitewater rafting. In the evening you can visit the hotsprings.
